I have used Rubbermaid stock products for many years. I buy the more expensive hard plastic ones because the soft plastic ones discolor easily with spaghetti sauce. A higher price is usually justified by good wear resistance. The Brilliance product is an interesting change from Rubbermaid's previous hard plastic storage containers. I love the new top design. What's brilliant is that you can leave the top vents open to allow the microwave to release steam so the attachments don't burst. You can then close the storage flaps to keep everything airtight. I am not happy that the Brilliance product is a completely different size than my previous Rubbermaid containers taking up extra space in my closet. I'm also unhappy that these containers are actually more expensive than ever.
