I've been using dictaphones since the cassette days. Then microcassette, then digital. I had 8 or 10 digital recorders. I use them so often, they just wear out! And I always bought Olympus. Yes, I tried Panasonic and also Sony, they just didn't do what I wanted. After reading the description of this particular recorder, I thought it wasn't "bloated" enough in terms of capabilities. But then I thought about how I actually use it and came to the conclusion that I will give it a try. Well let me tell you THIS IS THE BEST RECORDER I HAVE EVER USED! It does exactly what I need: easily take short notes, take longer notes on doctor's appointments, and capture important information. (If someone gives me their phone number and/or email address, I simply set the device to "record" and let it dictate. Accurate and sensitive that I have to retrain myself not to overdrive; a skill that I learned with lower recorders!
