It was a fun set with an attractive result. The only downside is that the craft is VERY finicky and requires very good coordination. I found that I couldn't glue the flowers to the pins before inserting the pins into the styrofoam as instructed. It is better to insert the pins first, and then glue the flowers on them. However, it was a VERY hectic project. When I was done I thought the glue wouldn't stick and it would be a total failure, but I was pleasantly surprised that the glue held really well once it dried. The finished product is very beautiful, and creativity is high because you can create any arrangement you want. The carved flowers are of good quality and the kit comes with a TON of them; much more than you need for a shadow box. That is a good thing; This means you can make more eyeshadow boxes by buying eyeshadow boxes from a craft store and using a foam sheet cut to size for the pencil back. The pins are regular straight pins so you can easily buy more if you need them. Or, if you find the project too finicky, you can save the leftover flowers to use in other crafts; They are perfect for creating greeting cards. One way to simplify this kit for those who find it too frustrating is to replace the pins with small foam mounting squares or dots. they would be easier to handle and still create a 3D effect. Overall, this is a good kit if you don't mind tackling a hectic project.
