Good but too small: t-shirts

I bought this for my friend and bought the largest they had which was 3x larger and it was closer to 1x when it was really small it fit in and I'm a girl and it wasn't too big for me it fit perfectly but for a man they are too tight/small but the shirt itself is nice and seems to be of good quality. I just tried it on and no one has worn it that hard to tell
