This is definitely an improvement
I messed up and scratched my freezer door trying to get rid of the tape. Your fridge will never be the same once you do it. but it's definitely an improvement. I don't have a before photo, but you can see that the repair isn't visible at all from the front and might just look like a patch of plaster from the side. Who even notices? they should really look for it. I'm happy with it and feel a lot better.
