Perfect for my purpose

I would have preferred a reputable brand extension like APC, TrippLite or Belkin, but none of them fit as well as Huntkey. (And in fact, they all come from some factory in China anyway.) Huntkey is large enough that you can use all of the outputs, but that doesn't mean you have to use them all at the same time. The fit of the sockets is also good. The connector won't be accidentally pulled out, but you don't need a crowbar to disconnect something like APC strips. The sockets on the sides are properly aligned - meaning if you plug a giant wall wart into the socket, most of it will hang down the side of the bar and not block the extra socket. Such simple things, and manufacturers always make mistakes. The joule value on this strip is quite high. Even higher than other Huntkey extensions. Not sure why. Another feature that has worked for me is that the Huntkey has a straight connector with no angles. Those right angle staggered plugs never seem to work in my house. Best of all, it's a "dumb" splitter. No Bluetooth, no Wi-Fi, no software, so no hassles! There is one downside that seems to have been fixed on other Huntkey models. The main on/off switch is recessed but feels very light. You won't accidentally turn on the power strip, but simply touching the power strip can turn it off. Something like a pet walking along the path might have turned it off. For me it's not a problem, but if there was one I would make a cover for the switch.

  • Electronics
Cons
  • Big and bulky
