ruler is ruler. An inch is an inch on any ruler unless someone came to work drunk that day. 15 inches is a nice feature compared to 12. I would have preferred 16 inches but that's fine so nothing to complain about here. I give it a 4 because the cork on the back of the metal doesn't sit close enough to the edge. Great for measuring but not great as a ruler for drawing lines. The cork lifts it slightly off the paper, allowing the graphite on the pencil to be drawn in an indirect line under the metal and in front of the cork. A good solution would be to fully extend the cork on one side so that you can use that side as a ruler and the other side to measure.
