Brake units work as advertised. There are a few minor errors in the instructions that can cause temporary confusion if you try to follow them verbatim. The brake assemblies have a little more "play" when mounted to the mounting/boom bolts on the bike than older brakes. In any case, they work very smoothly. Installing bike brakes is an art form, and if you don't do it right, the brakes can squeak and not stop properly. If your rims are worn and glazed, any brakes you get won't be as effective as they could be. If you are a beginner, be sure to watch some installation videos before trying and if you get it right the first time. You are either very lucky or you learn very quickly. It took me a few tries and I still think a bike shop could have done a better job.
