New but needed. - my new review

Up date: I received RIC Silver pair today. I really like the silver color for my silver gray hair. So you should see that they work with you and make sure what you really want. If these do not disappoint in the next few weeks I am sure I will be keeping. There is no one magic bullet. You have to decide what works for you and your own personal needs, but I can advise that the high dollar hearing aides are not particularly any better if you do not need an AUD to hold your hand through the process.Update 7/21/2020. Order a new Pair of the RIC silver. A little more expensive, but we will see. Price is the thing, but this pair may be better than the others. I like the looks anyway. ebay and Bangli. are the way to go in my opinion, unless you just do not care what you spend, and what value you revive. If you have severe hearing loose, you may be wise to check with your AUD.Update 7/20/2020. Second one went dead. I am sending both back. Sorry but just have lost faith since the both went dead in a very short period of time.Update 7/16/2020. One aid has stopped working. Will probably send back. A little nervous about reliability.Updated. 7/4/2020 I first used larger tubes. Just not satisfied with fit and, to go with five starts. I changed over to small tubes and now I am 99 percent satisfied. Only thing I might have wanted is two microphones. I am till adjusting but this is a five star product. As far as value, its definitely a five. Fitting is an obsolete first step in adjusting (it/them) to what works best for you.I personally will not know more until latter. I am comfortable with my selection of this pair at $ 300 vs $ 3000. . That's a no brainer to me. I heard birds clearly for maybe the first time. At first I had to lower things down, so I would not hear myself breath. You just have to play with them and find setting you want. Not plug and play. Sounds seems a little tinny but I am adjusting and experimenting. The tinny sound comes from volume level I think. Quality seems good, and you do have a try and return period I think the key maybe to turn them down and work your way up slowly over time. I am 72 years old. I will have my wife adjust tube link for me. I first went to an audiologist to see if my hearing was good. That's how I started this journey. That was free, but as I said, they wanted to sell 3000 aids and personal service/adjusting etc that comes with It. Right now I have nothing to loose.

Pros
  • Tailor-made for individual needs
Cons
  • May not be able to amplify certain sounds or frequencies
