Review on πŸ“Ί Replacement LCD Screen for 2006-2008 Honda Ridgeline Instrument Cluster and Odometer Display - Tanin Auto Electronix by George Johnson

Pretty easy to install but the customer service was terrible.

I have used Tanin twice to troubleshoot a Ridgeline speedometer. Tannin was the cheaper option but I had problems both times. I will not talk about the first problem, but I will tell you about replacing the odometer. It was easy enough for me to install and it seemed to work when I started the truck, but as I drove I noticed that the odometer reading flickered whenever I hit a bump in the road. I'm not an electrician, but it seemed to me that the problem was a bad contact / short circuit. I contacted Tanin about the issue and expected them to tell me to send it back for a replacement/refund but a customer service rep instead. said she would ask the tech about it and get back to me. She contacted me and said the tech said I had to ship my entire cluster so they could check it for a $100+ maintenance fee. Not wanting to pay shipping and inspection fees for the unit, I decided to disassemble the unit again and check the odometer connection. It was snug in place, but the pins didn't fit snugly in the socket. I removed the odo. Adjusted the display and the pins slightly to make better contact. It seems to have worked because after I reinstalled everything the flickering on impact stopped. When Tanin makes these replacements, they should check the position of the pins on these displays, and if a customer has a problem with that, they shouldn't ask them to spend more money on a problem that's the company's problem.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
