I live in a small town on an island in south Texas where most people dress very casually all year round. For the last few years I've been wearing Keen and Merrell shoes and boots for their comfort. I'm not a fan of slippers or sandals. I took a chance and ordered them for home, the beach and maybe a quick trip to the store. I also expected them to end up in a graveyard of shoes I never wear. I received it in the mail and immediately regretted the purchase. They wear too light and feel inferior. I put them on and quickly changed my mind! This is one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. They are also quite durable, I tossed them in the washing machine 3 times along with the insole and air dried them. They came out like new every time. They run about half a size too small, but luckily I anticipated that when I ordered. They have fantastic arch support which I absolutely need in a shoe, the flat soles hurt my feet and back. I've been wearing them every day for the past three months and put them on as soon as I get home from work. My Keens and Merrells have now taken a back seat to my everyday shoes. I love them and would highly recommend them especially if you need good arch support. I'm not saying these shoes will last forever but for the price they are a steal. As I said above, they have been my favorite shoe for the past three months. They show no signs of failure anywhere. I would also like to point out that I have never used a healing tape. I only wear it as slippers. I can't confirm the quality of the healing strap but based on the rest of the shoe I think it will work fine.
