The foam on the side of the applicator is not dense enough, but it works

Overview: ** Glidecoat Ceramic Coating Sponges 6-Pack - Application Pads for Cars, Boats, Motorcycles, RVs, ATVs and More - Non-Absorbent - Easy Application to Any Vehicle! **after ceramic coating On several vehicles I have found that the best application method is a small dense sponge with a slightly less dense side wrapped in a suede-like microfiber cloth. The sponge simply applies pressure to the fabric to evenly distribute the ceramic coating - it doesn't really hold the ceramic coating's liquid. These Glidecoat towels are oversized and thick overall, but the foam on the applicator side is too soft. If you use them without the wrapped MF cloth, the open cell foam will absorb too much ceramic liquid. And with the fabric around, the foam is still a bit soft, but will work pretty well. Having tried them on a test surface I can say they will work (with a cloth wrapped around them), but I don't like them as much as other foam applicators I've used. The size is large, but the foam side needs to be a little denser or thinner for a more even pressure. Quick Tip: If you cut slits in the red part of the foam block, you can stick a microfiber cloth inside to save it. wrapped around the block. (look at my picture). If you've ever made pottery appliquรฉ, you know that the fabric easily pulls away from the block and you have to keep rewinding it. This trick helps reduce the frequency with which this happens.
