EDIT: I've come upon some troubling information stating that many kinds of abalone are at risk of becoming endangered species. (Don't take my word for it, do some research of your own.) in fact, when I bought this I didn't even know that abalone was a sea creature! The idea just doesn't sit well with me so I won't be wearing or buying abalone jewelry again, reguarless of how beautiful they are. Just look at it- beautiful! But I will most likely be putting it on a different chain. I got 2 compliments on it today and was asked where I got it from!
