The pivoting of this socket extension (with USB) was the reason for the purchase. However, in a horizontal position, the weight of 1 cable and 2 USB cables will cause the device to rotate downward to the five o'clock position. There's a plastic screw on the back that helps keep the device parallel to the wall (which was a nice feature). However, it's good that it's plastic and not metal, as I'd be afraid the metal screw would scratch the paintwork. All in all it's fine, but I want it to stay in a horizontal position instead of rotating to a vertical position - this causes my extension application to fail. I need to find another extension that doesn't rotate on its own, or maybe use thick CA glue to permanently attach the extension in a permanent horizontal position. +3 stars for feature improvement and -2 stars for unwanted auto-rotation to bottom vertical position.
