OK - no spring tension

This puller is useful for removing chips from sockets. It works better than the tool I used and doesn't bend the pins. However, it is not spring loaded. It might seem like a tricky detail, but the one I have at work is spring loaded and much easier to use. If you close the tool so that the gap is smaller than the chip, it will be awkward to open again. With a spring model, simply relax your grip. I recommend you spend the extra $1.50 and buy the one with the nib. Just look for a small wire spring on the metal parts of the tool.

Pros
  • Professional design for removing PLCC/IC on PCB
Cons
  • Some errors
