I like this console organizer

I love my Model X, but am always looking for interesting and easy modifications. There are actually several other console trays out there, but this was the only one I saw with cup holders. The Tesla Model X has plenty of cup holders, but not necessarily in the best spot. Those under the retractable armrests are a little too close to your arm (hence the armrests), and the slotted, detachable consoles in the bucket area are huge but take up storage space. So I was looking for a way to organize things and still have drink holders. So I bought this one to try. It's actually better made than I thought it would be for the price. It's not cheap, but it seems very well made. After removing the Tesla Cupholder dividers, I simply inserted the Jaronx tray. It fits perfectly and the sliding door on the console still works and now has a breakpoint where the cup holders are. The tray is divided into 3 sections; 2 cup holders, 3 3/8" (8.6cm) wide x 6 1/8" (15.5cm) flat and 2" (5cm) thin x 6 1/8" (15.5 cm) flat 5 cm). Each section has a rubber mat perfect for preventing items from rolling around. As you can see in the first photo, I mostly keep pens, markers, and granola bars in the tray. It's easier than fishing them from the box below. My iPhone 7 Plus mostly just lies flat without a case and then sits snugly. What's really nice are the 2 metal knobs that allow you to leave the door partially open to use the cup holders (see middle photo). These buttons feel well designed and look like they'll hold up to a lot of sliding door opening and closing. I also tried the Tesla provided tray with cup holder slots that can stay in place if needed. The only advantage of Tesla cup holders is that they are movable and can hold large cups/bottles. The last photo shows a bottle of water in a glass holder. It can only hold small/medium cups/bottles or large ones with conical bottom. I've tried a 16.9 oz (500 ml) water bottle and a 16 oz Snapple bottle and they work great, as do 12 oz soda cans. The tray can be easily lifted to access anything in the console box below. However, if you overload it with handles, they can slide out backwards when you lift the tray. It's not cheap and there's no wireless charging option. an option like some trays, but I looked for cup holders with the best placement so that they fit my needs perfectly. Maybe later they will release something similar with a loading option. Great for my needs and covers a lot of ground floor space to store stuff.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • The list will go on.
