Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Your Sanding Experience with Odyssey OB-19 Multitool Contour Sanding Accessory Set: 6 Unique Profile Shapes for Impeccable Results by Tony Wilson

Broken on arrival, short parts. Replacement also defective

I was looking for profile sanders to sand some 1/2 wide grooves and the Odyssey Contour Sanding Kit came to mind. Since I have a multi tool I decided to give it a try. The first order was broken and I returned and received a replacement the next day which I used and was disappointed again. Continue reading my observations. First order: The end holding the clasp is broken (see picture). There is nothing to attach the clasp to. there is a jagged edge, apparently broken, but there is no broken part in the box, so it must have been boxed that way. Also, there were only 3 sheets of sandpaper when there should have been 12. It seems to me that someone broke it and sent it back, and someone just put it back on the shelf for sale. Very poor quality control. 2nd order with replacement above: GOOD: -- FAST REPLACEMENT: After returning the 1st, a replacement was sent and I received it the next day. Thanks for that. - CUT YOUR OWN BOTTOM PAPER: Using the included 80 grit sandpaper, I cut out the shapes using the manufacturer's paper as a template. The paper fits perfectly without adding a small slit that is at the end of the manufacturer's paper. - SUITABLE FOR SKILL MULTITOOL: The holder is perfect for the Skil multitool. contain the various sandpapers listed on the website. It had 5 sheets of 80 grit against 9 sheets of different grit, but theoretically the holder didn't break. -- HARD TO LOCK: I understand why so many of them break reviews. The sandpaper holder fastener is very difficult to clip onto the end of the plastic base. I was sure I would break the ending, but I could do it without breaking. -- FAST PAPER WEAR: Use 220 grit sandpaper to sand the groove with a rounded outline. I was pacing the groove at the lowest skil speed. Even at the slowest speed of the multi-tool, the paper wears out in a matter of seconds. -- WASTE PAPER: Perhaps even worse than the above, all you can use is this one piece of paper. Whole pages cannot be used and wasted. -- BETTER BY HAND: Finally, sanding the groove by hand was faster than stopping and changing papers every 60 seconds, and you can use all of the paper, not just a small center portion of the paper if you use the Tool. -- HEATER: I understand why some people say this burns the rubber because even at the lowest speed I could smell the heating rubber but it didn't leave any black marks on the wood. Of course, if you use this, use it at the lowest speed so you don't melt the rubber. Conclusion: To be honest, I was disappointed with the device. Some problems, such as rapid paper wear, are related to the technique and not the tool. But with a difficult fastener, I see that it will break very soon. On the other hand, you can cut your own paper for it.
