I have this DVD player and it worked fine for the first few months. It seemed like a really good deal at $38. Upscaling works great. It has no memory. So if you take out the disc or turn off the device, you will lose your DVD storage space. Anyway, it started glittering a few months after I received it. I use an HDMI cable and if I leave the DVD player on for hours without playing a disc, the display goes crazy and the menu becomes unusable. The only way to resolve the issue is to unplug the device for a period of time ranging from 15 minutes to an hour (magic time varies) and allow all capacitors to discharge to allow the device memory to reset. You can then watch your enlarged DVDs. I do NOT recommend this product.
