I downgraded it to 3 stars due to poor assembly but it is much more accurate than the plastic devices I have used. almost agree! Of course YMMV. Helpfully, the display shows volts, amps, and watts all the time, as well as cycling through Wh, Ah, etc. I noticed that the display has shifted relative to the case opening. So I loosened the case screws to see what was going on and found that the PCB block inside was loose. There was a piece of double-sided tape on the underside of the PC unit, but the protective paper was not removed. It wouldn't get stuck anyway because the red wire is thicker than the tape and the tape doesn't touch the backing. Also inside the case was the bare end of the red + wire where it connects to the sense resistor. the back of the housing is pinched and thus short-circuited. In most cases this wouldn't matter unless the case was somehow connected to the negative power supply. Here's what I did: -Added a piece of tape to insulate the bare end of the red+ wire inside the case. - I put a piece of thick double sided tape on top of the original double sided tape, centered it and taped it. - Reassembled the case. Now I have an accurate meter at a very affordable price. Although I was supposed to do it as a buyer didn't have to redo it.
