Close, but no cigar

The square is close to 90 degrees, but not spot on. I checked by taping paper to a workbench near the edge, drawing a line along the blade with the handle snugged up to the workbench, and then flipping the square to the opposite side and checking the edge against the pencil line. It was off by just a little bit--close enough for layout work, not close enough to square a table saw blade to a fence or a jointer fence to jointer tables. Probably as square as you can expect for the price.

Pros
  • Wasn’t exactly what I was looking for but product is good
Cons
  • The stainless steel blade is prone to rust and corrosion over time

Very nice! - my new review

I have several levels and scribing devices as well as many rulers and straightedges. This fills a very nice niche as it has a unique design with the inner ledge that sits on the thing you are trying to mark or measure and makes it very easy to use and hold in place.I was worried about the plastic part, and whether it would be a FIRM, SOLID connection, because if there is ANY flex, then the numbers go whack very fast. SO FAR it is solid and firm and it not only has the obvious 90 degree square…

Pros
  • So much easier to see & read than my same size bare steel square. I think I’ll double down on it!
Cons
  • The markings can wear off over time, making the square less effective

Not square or straight

Tried my luck with this product but first item was clearly bent as per my picture. Gave it a second attempt and second one was not square on the inside of the try square. It was not a huge degree of error but noticeable when checking w a speed square and not sure how I would have tried to fix it given the makeup of this try square. Suspect if I kept returning and reordering I could eventually get one that is reasonable square and straight, but I will have to look elsewhere and probably spend a…

Pros
  • PRECISE - This square is certified 90° for accuracy.
Cons
  • The small size can make it challenging to use for precise measurements

True & Square: my feedback

Well made and extremely durable. Useful for marking off angles. Useful, no computer or batteries needed just knowledge and a pencil and you're good to go. I checked it for square with two t-squares and it's true and as close to perfect as you can get.

Pros
  • The square is an excellent tool for both professionals and beginners, with its high-quality features it can help any user achieve precise and accurate measurements every time
Cons
  • The square may not be useful for precise or delicate work, such as jewelry making or model building

Great Tool For Wood Work

If you do any type of wood work, then you will find this handy. It has angles etched in, and the square is true and 90 degrees. You can rest it on the corner of the board for exact measurements, and mark for angles. The plastic is nice and thick and bright red. My measurements were accurate, and the markings were etched into the metal. I can see it rubbing off if you abuse it and throw it around other metal tools but nothing should rub off otherwise. It's a well priced handy tool and great to…

Solid square is easy to find.

I do a fair amount of home handyman DIY stuff and have a several other squares and combination squares, but did not have a try square of this size. I wasn't sure if I'd like the red plastic but it's plenty sturdy and the red color makes it much easier to spot in the shop. I haven't used the angle calculators but that would definitely be handy if I were doing something like rough framing. Blade appears to be stainless but is also magnetic.

Pros
  • DURABLE - The Kapro 307 Try & Mitre Square features permanently etched markings and a tempered stainless steel blade that resist wear and corrosion for long lasting precision.
Cons
  • The markings are not engraved, making them easier to wear off over time

Inaccurate. in my review

It's easy to read but inaccurate. Not one side matches any other. Unfortunately you do get what you pay for. Carpentry Squares.

Pros
  • Carpentry Squares
Cons
  • The price point may be prohibitive for some users on a budget

Sorta useful features

I have a 24 inch steel square that I believe was once owned by my great-great grandfather. OK, maybe not but it's really old and it's difficult to read and, in many cases, too big. This is a pretty nice 12 inch square that has what I thought were a few useful features at first. Yes, there are holes in one side to you can make a mark with a pencil. But, you'd better be using a sharp pencil to fit in the holes. And, there are a number of markings to help you mark angles for example. But, all of…

Pros
  • Just the gift I was looking for
Cons
  • The square is not suitable for use with all materials, such as round or irregular shapes

Ignore other reviewers' assertions of alleged defects

I find it astonishing how much inaccurate information has been posted in reviews and answers to questions on this product.1) It DOES have measurements in both inches and centimeters (even though the manufacturer said NO in reply to a question)2) It DOES have accurate markings on the scales - hardly surprising since the markings are stamped in steel.3) The markings do NOT come off - how can they when they are stamped in steel. All in all, this is quite a nice square and the scales and angles are…

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • The metal blade can become slippery when working with wet or oily materials

Its square best in my review

I don't know why this square is not exactly eight inches, It is about a quarter inch more, which makes it very difficult to use as a measuring tool. say you wanted to measure the blade on the table saw from fence, it become very difficult because of that extra quarter inch.

Pros
  • The Kapro 307-08-TMS is a durable and high-quality marking square that has a stainless steel blade, making it resistant to wear, rust, and corrosion
Cons
  • The square is relatively heavy, which can make it more challenging to handle

Handy square on my review.

I have several squares in my tool bag, but this one is a little different from the others. The short leg is a polymer material that is appealing because of the way it will sit on the board or piece you are measuring. It has a ledge to let it sit in the correct position and is kind of rounded to also make it easier to handle. This is shown as stainless steel, which is always a plus, as I have several old squares that have started to rust. I read someone's comment that their square arrived with…

Pros
  • Very useful tool and the ledge on the handle portion is really nice. Seems to be of very high quality.
Cons
  • The price point is high compared to other similar products on the market

This is a mitre square; If you need one, you know what it is and why you need it. Function dictates form, and this is an elegant, functional design. The price is extremely reasonable for the product, and I have nothing negative to say about quality. In fact, quite the opposite. I will now tell you a short story and then explain why I think this is a 5-star product. When I was a wee lad, several decades ago, I received a set of letter-shaped blocks constructed of plastic. I thought nothing of…

Pros
  • Measuring & Layout Tools
Cons
  • The square is not angled, limiting its usefulness for advanced projects

Well made at a good price

This appears to be a well made tool. I know it is inexpensive but the ruler is very thin. Not sure how long before it bends but at this price I feel it is worth recommending.Update: I have been using this square the last few days and do not like the markings. One side is imperial and metric while the other is all metric. Would prefer all metric on one side and imperial on the other.

Pros
  • Looks good and nice and strong and light weight
Cons
  • The square may not be durable enough for frequent use in a professional setting

nice square for the price

I checked this against some of my very expensive squares, and it was dead on, impressive considering the price.for construction, or light woodworking, this square is excellent.and if u ruin it, or gets stolen from your truck, at this price point, you don't sweat it.Kapro is making some nice products at very competitive price points.

Pros
  • This is very well made. Works great. It does what it is supposed to and is a good quality mitre square.
Cons
  • The square may be difficult to clean and maintain over time

Kapro 309-12 Legend Try and Mitre Square SS 12 Inch

This square is OK. The measurements are painted on and won't last very long, they need to be scored. It works fine here in my house but I won't be using it out in the shop or garage.

Pros
  • Great product. No real complaints here
Cons
  • The square is not marked in metric measurements, limiting its usefulness for international users

Accurate Markings, Great Design

I completely recommend the 12-Inch Kapro Legend Square. The handle is genius. It has an edge that allows it to sit in place hands free while marking. A line of holes, pencil notches, make it easy to double check that placement is true. The measurements are etched into the metal, as are dashed lines that mark angle degrees. The square I received doesn’t resemble those that other reviewers have described as having painted on markings are incorrect measurements. There’s nothing that I found that I

Pros
  • Para hacer escaleras
Cons
  • The Kapro 307-08-TMS Try And Mitre Layout And Marking Square is too small for larger projects

for rough work only

The one I got is out of square by 1/2 a degree or more, which is unacceptable for cabinet making but may be suitable for rough carpentry. The little tab that rests on the face of whatever you're marking is a nice feature. Some squares can be adjusted but I think because this one uses plastic molded around the short leg that isn't feasible.

Pros
  • The Kapro 307-08-TMS is designed with ergonomic handles that provide users with comfort and ease of use even for extended periods
Cons
  • The square is not magnetic, limiting its usefulness for some applications

Perfect - Ledgend Try and Mitre Layout and Marking Square

I was pretty excited to be offered the chance to review the Ledgend Square, but then I read the reviews about inaccurate markings and poor quality. Those issues seem to be with the steel carpenter and framing squares. The Ledgend was spot on. It is a true 90 degree square with laser etched markings for durability, Both the imperial and metric scales were accurate. I didn't have my machinist square to check, but I would say it is dead accurate. The red support ledge makes it easy to square things…

Pros
  • The square's compact size helps users save space in their toolbox or storage area, making it convenient and easy to store
Cons
  • The square may not be completely square itself, leading to inaccurate measurements
