I find it astonishing how much inaccurate information has been posted in reviews and answers to questions on this product.1) It DOES have measurements in both inches and centimeters (even though the manufacturer said NO in reply to a question)2) It DOES have accurate markings on the scales - hardly surprising since the markings are stamped in steel.3) The markings do NOT come off - how can they when they are stamped in steel.All in all, this is quite a nice square and the scales and angles are clear and easy to read. As an innovation the plastic handle has a ledge along its center. This ensures that the handle leg stays in position when it is pressed against the edge of a piece of wood and does not slide out of position.One minor criticism:- It is described as being able to measure up to 12 inches. Well that is not quite true. The scale goes up to exactly 30 centimeters. 30 centimeters is about 1/4 of an inch less than 12 inches.
