Just Buy It! You Can Thank Me Later!

You know how some tools just "feel right” in your hand? From the moment you pick up this tool, you will be happy you ordered it. It is solidly made, VERY accurate, and features obvious attention to detail in it’s finishing. The edges are "dead on” in terms of straight and well finished lines that make accurate marking a breeze. I love the little "fold out” leveler tab on the angle that allows you to easily fold it out whenever you want to pull a straight, parallel line from the reference edge…

Pros
  • I mean, it's a square. The extra metal (triangle-shaped) tab is a useful feature.
Cons
  • Product was out of square, which makes it completely useless

Very useful, came very early!

Its solid feeling and so far accurate. Hopefully I wont drop it anytime soon.It was delivered loose in a big box so was a little worried. Delivery btw was super fast - 5 days earlier than expected. The extras - slide and marking holes are useful too for me.Its more $ than most squares but much cheaper than a woodpecker which has similar features.I think it's definitely worth it as long as it stays square!

Pros
  • This is my go to square. Highly recommended.
Cons
  • The stainless steel blade may rust if not properly maintained

It's not square for my opinion

It's supposed to be "square", well because it's a square, but it is not square; it's out of square probably .040" per foot, which is terrible.I won't be surprised if the manufacturer comes back with some excuse like "For this price, you cannot buy a precision square." But it's not even close to being a useful tool.look at the photos and see how the lines diverge in just 7", that gap is close to .040, so take that out to 12" and divide by 2, and the gap will be around .04 out.I should have paid…

Pros
  • Works great.
Cons
  • The square may not be suitable for left-handed individuals

Replacement of previous order and this one is 👍

The first one I received was damage and missing label which I returned right away. This one is as described 👍 The square may require frequent sharpening to maintain accuracy.

Pros
  • PRECISE - The Kapro 353 ’s blade has marking holes at 10°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 45°, 50° and 60° for angle marking and includes openings every ¼ inch for fluid and parallel pencil markings.
Cons
  • The square may require frequent sharpening to maintain accuracy

Not too bad, but invest in a better one.

Overall good product and decent value. No major issues. The ruler is a bit flimsy, already bent a little when it got pinched between boards. The marking holes are too oversized for regular pencils and even carpenters pencils which leads to less accuracy when marking lines. I recommend spending a little more on a better product as I use this in woodworking more than any other square.

Pros
  • The accurate and precise measurements save time and reduce errors during projects
Cons
  • The square may not be suitable for use with certain power tools

Supposed to be a new or unused product.

I believe product was a return or used. Has numerous scratches through out tool some deep enough to feel with your fingernails. Nice product but needs better quality control before shipping as a new or unused tool.

Pros
  • Its versatility makes it a valuable tool in any workshop or DIY project
Cons
  • The retractable ledge may cause scratches on surfaces if not properly adjusted

Accuracy at its finest!

This square is everything I expected it to be. Very well built and accurate. I have checked it with engineering squares and found it to be right on at 90 degrees. It is nice to have a tool that you can depend on to be right on the mark every time!

Pros
  • Accurate, easy to read nice quality tool
Cons
  • The square may not be available in different colors

Best I have found for my opinion

I like this tri square. The little clip on the handle to sit on the wood is a nice feature. I also like the holes at convenient distances to mark wood. It has angles marked on it but I don't see how you can use them.

Pros
  • Easy to read and use
Cons
  • Out of square.

As per the title, I would not waste my money on this tool. Since the whole purpose of this device is to measure and draw lines accurately, it’s almost worthless

Pros
  • This a knock off of the Woodpecker brand. But for 1/3 of the price and it does the job!
Cons
  • The size of the square may not be suitable for small projects

Well made but terrible design

I picked this up to replace a Swanson version that was beat up. I'm a framing and exterior trim/siding carpenterThe good: it's well made and the ledge support is great. The bad. Both the handle and the blade measure 1-9/16" which is strange. The Swanson are 1-1/2" which works great for laying out plates / marking intersections and marking both sides of a stud/ rafter without having to move the square twice. Also being 1-9/16 wide the numbers on either side are 1-9/16" off. With the Swanson if the

Pros
  • The professional-grade stainless steel blade ensures durability and longevity
Cons
  • The stainless steel blade may emit a metallic odor

Dead on square best in my review

I bought a ten dollar square the other day, it wasn’t exactly "square”…Retuned it and bought this twenty dollar square and it is dead on!The little flip out ledge support looked like a bit of a gimmick till I used it the first time, now I think it’s a "must have” for all squares. My only knock on this is the etched graduations on the ruler, they are flat, not notched into the metal, but then again, it’s only twenty dollars!Five outa five stars.

Pros
  • The etched ruler markings ensure accuracy and prevent smudging or fading over time
Cons
  • The retractable ledge may not be suitable for use with certain materials

Multi Function Square

This square has many different functions. Not only is it a 90 degree angle, it has a retractable metal ledge support, etchings and/or holes for different gradations and degrees for beveling and framing. This square does it all!

Pros
  • just buy it , you will not be disappointed
Cons
  • The square is quite heavy, which may result in user fatigue

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Accuracy? good for me

Nice appearance, but very disappointing in accuracy. As you see my cheap plastic square I've used for years appears to be more accurate than this "CERTIFIED" accuracy. It also does not match with my Empire Tri square

Pros
  • The flip out tab is great.
Cons
  • The etched ruler markings may fade over time

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Close but not quite.

It’s not 90 degrees. I checked it against my other measuring tools and it’s close but quite. It will work if you are making rough cuts but for precision I wouldn’t recommend.

Pros
  • The retractable ledge allows for simple measurements in tight spaces
Cons
  • The stainless steel blade may become dull over time

Great tool for marking layout lines on boards.

Very please with function of the square. I'm using it to layout lines on boards. Cuts down on marking a line on each side and connection them. Now i can put a pencil in the measurement i want and pull the square down the board and a straight line. The ledge support is a great add to the square.

Pros
  • Very nice quality
Cons
  • The Kapro-353 Ledge-It Try & Mitre Square is quite expensive compared to similar products on the market

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poor quality control.

I bought two of these and the accuracy of the engraved measurement lines on the blade were off by more than 1/32” because the blades were carelessly inserted into the beam. Nonetheless the square was accurate as a square, although the engraved measurements lines were useless. The metal edges of the blade were extremely sharp which made the square uncomfortable to handle, however you can ease the edges yourself to give it a better hand feel. The best feature of the square is the "Ledge-it”…

Pros
  • ADJUSTABLE - The Kapro 353 Professional Ledge-It Try & Mitre Square features retractable ledge support for easy, hands-free use.
Cons
  • The square may be difficult to clean

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Half a Square? good for me

The outside edge is square. As many have pointed out, the inside edge is NOT SQUARE. If I wanted an inaccurate tool, I would have picked something up from Home Depot.

Pros
  • The Try & Mitre Square is an affordable tool that provides professional-grade results
Cons
  • The retractable ledge may become stuck and difficult to move

I bought 1 at a store, a little Pricey, but I thought 4 sure it would b like a MICROJIG, with Perfect Accuracy, and yet like other Reviewers hav found it is off. U can go 2 Sears, depot name brand and find 1 that is 100% on 4 maybe $15 or less. I own several, and since 1985 hav worked well 4me. Kapro Co told a buyer that it MAY B OFF SOME, B/C THEY R NOT COMPETING W HIGH PRICE 1's. So ur saying u sell a Defective Product at a Lower Cost. The Old timers that Wookwork, know How 2 Square up a…

Pros
  • Well designed and made.
Cons
  • The square may not be suitable for outdoor use

Great value and tight tolerances

For the money spent, this is a great square that is as useful as it is affordable. I don't have unlimited funds to purchase high end tools, and it is good to know that I don't have to pend $100 to obtain the high degree of accuracy that this square has. Money well spent!

Pros
  • The retractable ledge makes it easy to create a precise measurement without additional tools
Cons
  • The square may not have a non-slip grip, resulting in user error

Revainrating 4 out of 5

well built square, nice hidden features

Accurate and easy to use, especially with the pin that allow you to keep it flat on the surface. The holes every 1/4" it's an added bonus.

Pros
  • it seems accurate and well built.
Cons
  • The stainless steel blade may scratch surfaces if not properly used
