As I just spent 15 minutes changing the batteries, you can all read the instructions, only faster! I originally bought this lantern to attach to my dog's harness for when he goes out at night. I can't imagine the flashlight was used for more than an hour before the batteries died, but the flashlight itself is very bright and stays on its pendant. It's super comfortable. I'll update my review on the spare battery life later. Now if you want to know how to change batteries, read on. Use the included magnetic screwdriver to press the pin on top of the clip. through. It comes out relatively easily and the clip almost falls out of the light. (Honestly I did this after loosening the screws and it took me a while to figure it out.) Then loosen the four tiny screws to remove the back of the flashlight. You may have to use a pocket knife to remove the batteries, but be careful. That's all. If you take it apart, you can reassemble it!
