I spent a few hours looking through various emergency radios and settled on this one. very bright. The alarm clock is very loud. And the digital tuner has good sensitivity. From my balcony I can see the VHF tower which is on the same frequency as the VHF station I want to receive miles away. This radio starts with no problems. (I have several old digital receivers that have problems with this transmitter.) The solar panel is very sensitive to light. It's cloudy and snowing as I type, but the radio charges directly from the available light. The handle works. I assume the bottle opener works. I am very happy with this radio. The order was even two days early. The radio is so compact that when life gets back to normal, I'll be carrying it in my backpack on my daily rides through the cold, brutal city.
