Best for synthetics

Advances in synthetic textile technology have not kept pace with detergents, which are still being developed primarily for natural fibers. Cotton, for example, is easy to wash because it is hydrophilic (absorbs water) and thus repels hydrophobic (oily) stains and odors, and can be washed in hot water and bleached, which kills odor-causing bacteria. Odors cling to hydrophobic synthetics and are difficult to wash because synthetics do not tolerate high temperatures, fabric softeners or bleach. I've tried powdered synthetic detergents that rely on high pH levels and enzymes to eliminate oily, sticky odors for mixed results that often require a long soak. Biokleen contains lemon oil, which is essentially limonene, a powerful organic solvent that can even dissolve paraffin wax. Biokleen contains no bleach, plasticizers or other additives and is highly concentrated (do not overuse in a HE washer). It is the best cleaner for synthetic fabrics including car microfiber cleaning cloths. Very good value given the number of washes in each bottle. Removes stubborn odors that other cleaning products can't handle. The lime content gives the characteristic orange peel smell. Highly recommended.
