My wife wanted a phone holder for her Mercedes E300. So I buy this one. It was a little tight at first when installed, but once it was in place the fit was tight. Second, the phone is held firmly on the mount. I have a different car and the phone holder is attached to the air vent. It's not as strong as this one that mounts around the vents (see pics). It changes the world. Third, placing and removing the phone is quite fluid. Again, my other holder requires a button press to release the phone, but this one "recognizes" the removal and smoothly releases the phone. My wife loves that extra "luxe feeling". Overall she is happy with the device and I am her hero for finding such a good phone mount. : )[UPDATE] Downgraded due to incessant rattling after 5-6 months of use. Actually, I just removed the device from the car this morning. Like I said, it worked fine for a while. But over time, the unlocking mechanism became clumsy and didn't release the phone smoothly. Then along with the phone came out the whole part that holds the phone (not the mount on the car). Then this knock. You know, the Mercedes E300 is a pretty quiet ride, but the rattling noise was incessant and unbearable - so today I removed the unit. then that's cool. But since it was a more expensive model than regular phone holders, I expected more. It was good while it lasted.
