All sides of the surface are protected from touch (I have SP6, works with SP2017 and SP4). It has a decent bezel around the screen and is made from a comfortable rubber material and hard plastic. The fit is very snug all around, which leads me to my only gripe: the separate kickstand cover feels too tight. I was able to put it on with careful effort, but I'm not sure how easy it will be to remove if and when the time comes. However, the edge of the stand doesn't touch any surface, which is very good, including the front bottom edge where the Type Cover is attached. The corners are well gummed. The bottom edge of the device doesn't come into contact with tables as the corners act like legs to keep it out of the way, which is great. Access to all ports, also no problems with charging port. I can charge with the cable in the two configurations that SP allows, and the stand can be used almost to its original degree of folding, allowing for a comfortable range of viewing angles. No loud noises like UAG cases and metal stands, no loading issues like Gumdrop Droptech cases, no corners or edges rubbing against tables like book cases and slip cases (Incipio, Targus, etc.). p.), and the stand is protected there. without reducing movement, unlike Kensington cases which retain movement but expose the footboard. There are no hinges to break or protrusions to break when the stand is pulled out. Doesn't add significant weight and the pen holder on the surface is perfectly positioned. The power and volume buttons are separate, making them easier to find compared to the two buttons the SP originally had. The edges wrap well around the screen over my screen protector and there are no bubbles on it. The standard lid snaps effortlessly into place with no flapping and stays closed without the need for elastic corner ties. While the printed lid fits onto the SP when rotated back, it doesn't sit perfectly flush like it would without the case. So be prepared to place it anywhere or adjust your grip when switching to tablet mode. The microSD card is accessible but must be removed carefully as there is a rubber insert above it that forms the structure of the whole case. Has vents around the perimeter that seem well placed for these fanned i7 machines. Didn't notice the alarming warming (I have an i5). Overall the best case I've found for my use case.
