Review on PS 2003 Pro Oil Filter by Jody Kashani

They say it will fit, but it doesn't

I have this filter on my 1964 Buick Skylark with a 300 cc V-8 engine ( 4.9L) installed. It matched the carving, but while driving I noticed it left an oil stain on the garage floor. The investigation revealed that oil was leaking from the filter seal. The original filter is the PF-7, which is no longer available at its current price ($87.00?). I removed the filter to check and found that the diameter of the filter gasket did not match the diameter. identical to the mating surface on the oil pump. The gasket width should be slightly narrower than the mating surface to ensure a good seal. If the gasket is wider than the mating surface, it will leak. I learned this the hard way a long time ago when I was working at a gas station. I had to go to the parts store and spend an hour measuring filter gaskets from similar engine models until I found the right one. You have a car with an engine of this family (215, 300, 340, 350, 231, 3.8L), check that the filter is tight, or use another brand.
