Exactly what I was looking for. Sturdy steel with the right weight for training the forearm muscles. Not all stainless steel is rust resistant or non-magnetic! It's a myth. Depends entirely on the category. 316 stainless steel (the most common) is highly resistant to rust and is non-magnetic. 440C is attracted to magnets but is also rust and corrosion resistant. 440C has greater strength and durability and is commonly used to make surgical instruments. They hold their high gloss finish much better than 316. They resist corrosion from most chemicals and rust from fresh water. It will not be attacked by hand oil but should be cleaned after use. This is a great wrist and forearm muscle training product that will withstand even a fall onto a hard floor. I can't say what happens to the floor. They came with a high gloss finish which makes them attractive as tabletop items. The box is made of lightweight wood with a pad to keep the balls in place. I didn't have any problems with the box or with a ball or two.
