Well made emergency kit. I bought them for my grandson's first car. I've had a set of these for a few years. Magnesium flares were once used as road warning and police still use them, but they are dangerous to keep in a car and become more difficult to ignite with age. These triangles have become commonplace as warning signs and are extra large and well weighted so they don't get blown away by the wind. In Europe, cars come with a set of crash triangles and are required by law to be in every vehicle.
