This is a fine dress, but I don't love it. The shade of green is truly lovely, but I feel like the material was sewn upside-down for the pattern, as it's kind of (softly) scratchy to pat down. To enjoy that smooth and soft velvet feeling, you have to "pet" upwards, which feels particularly weird.It's a heavier dress and a bit more matronly than I expected from the pictures. In all fairness, I'm more matronly than I might like to be, but this dress does me no favors. To me, it feels more like a robe or house dress. I'm sure part of that is the wrap factor, but I have a handful of other wrap dresses that don't make me feel that way. It may be where they placed the snap to keep the top from gaping, as, while I like where the V lands, I may just not have the chest to hold this up the way it could be, and I feel like the top looks saggier. It's just a long heavy dress. I was also worried when I ordered it that the slit would be too prominent after looking at the pictures, but I'll tell you, there's NO WAY that slit ever looks like that. They had to really pull the dress apart on the model to create such a big slit. I could spin or sit with crossed legs, or anything else and my knees will never see the light of day in this gown.Especially since it's full-length, I was hoping it would work for a more formal event, but it really just looks way too frumpy. Maybe I'll consider wearing it to just a family Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner when we are staying in at someone's home, but I'm not even sure about that. If anything, I actually may just start using it as a house dress. It is indeed comfortable at least. as long as you don't brush against the upside-down velvet fabric on the outside.
