I bought this coaster set for my husband because he is a big music lover and collects vinyl. They're cute, funny, and really do look like mini vinyl records. They even have grooves like a real vinyl record. Although functionally these coasters are not very good. Dirt, dust and crumbs quickly accumulate in the grooves, so they often have to be washed. On a hot day, when there is a lot of condensation from the glass, water flows into the grooves and sometimes overflows onto the tree that the coasters are designed to protect. They seem to do a great job with hot drinks. I love these coasters as a unique gift for a music lover, but they weren't as practical as I was hoping. We still use them when we need extra coasters for guests, but we don't use them all the time.
