Review on Zalman ZM-GM1 Black USB gaming mouse by Janis Ziemelis ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice price, good quality.

Price and this is the main thing for which you can forgive her for her shortcomings. Its pros: Price high dpi Beautiful packaging A large number of settings in the driver (you can change the resolution, sensor sensitivity, sensor polling rate, mouse backlight intensity and its pulsations, you can turn off the backlight altogether, I think many will like it. Personally, I didn’t like the backlight ripple, I turned it off, and set the backlight intensity to minimum). Teflon feet, really the mouse slides easier The presence of weights, and they are magnetic. When selecting the weight, the cover of the weights can be left open every time, which is very convenient. I picked up for myself the weight and their location, only then you can finally close it. With its cons: Impractical easily soiled glossy plastic (so to speak, a tribute to beauty and aesthetics, it should look for 1000, and not for 100, like ordinary matte ones) This mouse does not have a laser sensor that works on all surfaces, it does not seem to like glossy surfaces. I refused to work on the NOVA Microptic + mat with glitter, the cursor does not behave adequately on it at all, although it seems that the mat is also intended for laser mice, at first I thought that even the mouse was not working, so a normal gaming carpet is needed under it. A large number of settings in the driver, on the other hand, plays a cruel joke on the user, especially those who have purchased a gaming mouse for the first time in their lives. The first time I turned it on after a simple mouse, I was horrified because I couldn’t get the cursor the first time, especially into small objects, but after a long sorcery with the settings in the driver, I found the optimal settings for myself, only after that it becomes a pleasure to control the mouse. The high-frequency squeak, as users describe, is really present, but I already learned about it from the Internet, and heard it when I brought the mouse closer to my ear, so it doesn’t really bother me. A friend of mine has the same squeak mouse and said he doesn't hear it either. A hard wire, it is necessary to manually straighten each bend at the beginning of the operation of the mouse so that it is straight, otherwise the wire will interfere very much, since it straightens easily. The biggest drawback that I did not like is that the wheel does not rotate perfectly forward, away from you, it comes in jerks with some unpleasant rattle of the latch, which works out the steps of the wheel, when you turn everything perfectly. I didn’t like it a little that it’s impossible to attach the little finger comfortably, apparently due to the fact that it is symmetrical for both right-handers and left-handers, but this is a matter of habit.
