The first thing that struck me about the Sigma 100-400mm lens is the size. It's huge! Well compared to other lenses I own. Then it was time for assembly. Feels solid and looks solid. The focus ring and zoom ring work smoothly and easily. Autofocus is smooth and very quiet, although not as fast as some other lenses. You can feel the weight, but there's nothing wrong with holding your hand. It will take more time to get used to using it, but I believe that time will be well spent. Colors are well reproduced and images are sharp and clear. EDIT: Added two photos. I WANT to know who prints the manual! Even a mosquito would need a magnifying glass to read such fine print! All in all I have nothing to complain about. This is excellent value for money. Highly recommended. EDIT: The autofocus issue I thought I saw was entirely mine.
