Excellent value for money in digital camera accessories

This lens offers stunning photography at an affordable price. If you're using a crop sensor camera, you're really getting a 640mm lens for this price. The filters that come with it are rubbish so don't use them. The CP filter caused the images to become blurry, see the above image of it. Don't ruin this lens by using it. Check out the photos with this rating to see how cheap filters affect the lens. To at least get an overview of this lens, check out Fro Knows Photo on YouTube to see a real…

Great lens at a great price

I tried this lens in a photo shop a year ago and have wanted to use it for a long time. After seeing it again at Photo Plus Expo and preparing for some bird photography trips, I decided to get it. The package that came with Digital Goja put it in first place. The lens arrived on time and in perfect condition. The lens fits and works as expected. Accessories are good too. I like lens film and cleaner. Having a USB docking station for the lens was definitely a plus, especially at this price…

Sigma 100-400 winner

Sigma still works great out of the box. So far no settings from the USB Dock. At the time of writing this review, the lens has been used four times on two cameras: Nikon D750 and D500. Focusing seems quick, especially in good daylight on both bodies. I've only used the Sigma handheld with OS on 1 and AF. I couldn't find any problems in the viewfinder. I've taken over 1000 shots with this lens. I need to activate the zoom lock when working with the lens/camera facing down. I shoot most of my…

Sharp for the money with very fast autofocus

This lens has good sharpness for the price. It's not too heavy, so I can shoot handheld with it, and it just needs a bit of sharpening when editing images. Due to the 6.3 at the long end, really good lighting is required. I tried many lenses before deciding on this one. In addition to good sharpness, the autofocus is quite fast, which was a pleasant surprise. What I don't like is the way it was shipped and I don't know if it's the fault of the seller or the carrier. The lens and all accessories

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Some problems

Decent price

The first thing that struck me about the Sigma 100-400mm lens is the size. It's huge! Well compared to other lenses I own. Then it was time for assembly. Feels solid and looks solid. The focus ring and zoom ring work smoothly and easily. Autofocus is smooth and very quiet, although not as fast as some other lenses. You can feel the weight, but there's nothing wrong with holding your hand. It will take more time to get used to using it, but I believe that time will be well spent. Colors are well

Pros
  • Nice packaging

  • Lots of stuff

Exactly what I was looking for

My husband and I enjoy bird watching, especially in the winter we visit bald eagles. In addition to my trusty Canon 55-250mm, I had a cheap 500mm lens with a fixed manual focus, but I wanted something more responsive. After reading countless reviews I decided to purchase this lens and I was not disappointed. We went to the nearest nature reserve as soon as we received the lens and I could immediately tell the difference between the lenses. Using a tripod allowed me to get some clear shots of…

Great mid-range lens

I have a modern Sigma 100-400 attached to a Nikon D7100. I switched from a Nikkor 55-300 which is a great lens. Photo zooming and cropping isn't as sharp, however, due to the smaller 300mm range. (I always seem to want photos of birds and animals that are out of range of the lens!) This Sigma is sharp and works great on both cloudy and sunny days! Focusing is quick and responsive to the movement of birds between the trees and the pond where I tested the lens. The extra range means I don't have…

Great lens for the low price but needs a lot of light

I need more time to really get a feel for this lens but so far everything is great except f5-6.3. I thought it would be good for daytime wildlife photography, but it needs a lot of light. Expect a very high ISO in most conditions if you want a shutter speed fast enough to be handheld. Also, focusing is quick, it feels really solid and solid, and the controls are simple and solid. This is my first 400mm lens (use it on a Nikon D7500 APS-C which gives a focal length of 600mm) and I don't think…

Good choice for Sony E-mount (with MC-11)

I have rented this lens several times and finally bought it in this kit because of the great price. Sony 100-400 (which I also rented) is almost 4 times more expensive. For the price and performance, this lens is just a godsend. The lens is light and sharp for the focal length. OSS works very well and autofocus is fast, especially on an A7III or A6500 with the latest firmware. Customizable buttons (which you need a dock for) are really useful. In terms of performance, however, it does not come…
