Review on Gourmet Basics Mikasa 5217596 Countertop by Elizabeth Moore

I hit something sharp while pulling out the base parts. It was paint peeling off RUSTY metal. I wanted to ignore it and hope the baskets themselves are made of better material, but I am VERY worried about putting food in a rusty fruit basket. As I proceeded to assemble it (when I was debating whether or not to keep it) I noticed that all my hands were covered in black powder. Unfortunately, this was the last straw for me. I really wanted to love this product and have never had anything faulty from Mikasa. Note: The side rails are bent, one of the baskets is bent and the whole thing doesn't sit flat. The only good thing about this basket is that it looks very nice and is easy to assemble. Very disappointed - would not recommend for food storage. Maybe it would be good for storing plants or something inedible. Will return.
