Quality screen with good calibration but problem with USB-C

This is an excellent monitor with calibrated screens including DICOM which I found very useful. I tested the 32 inch version of this monitor with PerfectLUM and the factory calibration matched the DICOM curve exactly. The speakers are adequate, better than a similar LG 27V 4k monitor. Have 4 inputs for example as I have multiple sources and 4 USB ports. So why 3 stars? There are some issues with the USB-C connection. To get USB 3.1, you must first run the monitor at 30Hz over a USB-C connection. This is a limitation of DP 1.2 that this monitor uses. If you want 60Hz and USB 3.1, you'll need to connect your monitor via HDMI or DP and then use the USB USB-C port. So instead of 1 cable you have 2. But that's not my main problem. I had an Asus ProArt B550 motherboard with Ryzen 5600x connected to this monitor via USB-C. MB has Thunderbolt 4. The display looks great, but every time the CPU goes to sleep and the screen goes to sleep, if I turn the screen off and then back on, the USB-C connection stops working. To fix this I need to go into the factory menu using the firmware update instructions on the Asus website and then do a factory reset. The normal reset does not work. I believe this issue has something to do with USB-C power delivery, like my HP laptop is plugged into USB-C and HP goes to sleep, then when I continue, I turn off the monitor and turn it on on again. , USB-C works fine. Now I'm only connected to proart MB via HDMI and don't try to use USB-C anymore. USB-C redundancy for my laptop and iPad Pro. It's not a big deal but it's a weird bug so I'll have to contact Asus for this. I contacted their support and asked them to repeat the problem. They answered but are waiting for them to call me. BTW, my monitor comes with V19 firmware already installed, so anyone who buys it now should have no problem connecting an M1 laptop to the monitor.

Pros
  • 27 inches
Cons
  • Bad viewing angles. Poor viewing angles can cause the display to appear distorted or blurry when viewed from the side or at an angle.
