Review on ANTS PART Black Aluminum Roof Rack Cross Bars for GMC Acadia 2017-2021 with Roof Rack Rails by Joe Glass

I am very pleased with the finish, fit and strength of this third party roof rack crossbar kit. However, I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 to hopefully improve the instructions a bit. Instructions: These are fine, but they're missing one small detail and they're only on one side of a sheet. The missing detail is that there are two sets of 8 different sized screws. Only one set is mentioned, but to be honest it's pretty intuitive what each set is used for. The blank page of the instructions can provide some useful advice, and the first has nothing to do with the product itself. Be patient and careful when removing the plastic rivets from the screw holes on your vehicle. I wasn't and tore the flat head of the first one leaving my screw hole blocked. I removed the rest with some persistence, but of the remaining 7 I had to remove I broke one more. I couldn't remove the rest and ended up just pushing it back into the roof rack rail with an awl. I hope this doesn't leave me with a rattle. I highly recommend grabbing as many rivets as possible with medium sized pliers with long jaws and good teeth. The instructions also don't mention the adhesive pads that go between the mounting plates and your car's rails. Intuitive again, but a hint not to skip them would be nice. Next, leveling the product/crossbars with screw holes is really best done with two people. I installed mine unaided but it took over an hour. At least half of that time was spent moving back and forth from the left and right sides of the car while making final adjustments and tightening the bolts. Speaking of screws, you'll be tightening them "blind" and upside down. You can use your smartphone's camera and remind yourself that it will be "left" and not "right". Now on to the product, if you showed me these rails and asked me to guess I would have guessed these are GMC branded upgrade parts. The finish is shiny and very attractive, the fit is perfect and they are definitely NOT flimsy. They are as strong as the Toyota brand crossbars that fitted our Sienna and hold the same trunk that can now be fitted to our Acadia. craig
