Item slides easily right over the center console with two straps on the bottom to keep it in place. They look like real Uggs. I bought this because I have a small dog that loves to sit on the center console in my car and I just got a new car and he is sliding all over the console! He LOVES his new place even more than I do! It stays in place, no longer slips when I turn or loses its balance. We live in upstate New York so it's warm and comfortable too. I bought it around November 19th and am writing this review on September 20th. My dog's "seat" was starting to look pretty rough! I bought the cream color so you can imagine it looked pretty dirty. I didn't know how to wash it, I don't remember if there were instructions or not, but there is no care label. I ended up throwing it in the front loading washing machine and it looked brand new again! So happy! Like all products with this "fluffy" or "fluffy" texture, NEVER tumble dry! It's been over a month since I washed it in the washing machine, laid it out to dry and put it back in the car. It hasn't fallen apart after washing, it still retains its original silky wool look. Whether you just use it as a decoration or you want to turn the center console into a comfortable armrest, it will definitely last a very long time! Mine has endured contact with a dog's ass, dirty paws and the combined weight of a dog sitting on it for over 10 months and has also successfully survived a cycle in my washing machine! It didn't lose its shape, nor did it develop the "Memory Slack" print of most pillows.
