I was the first to be involved in a rollover accident on a tight bend the other day, but I had no way of warning other drivers on this dark road. Disaster was averted several times because I stood in the middle of the street with a flashlight. It would have been a lot less dangerous if I had been prepared with those flashing lights. The only claim to the manufacturer is the presence of a retractable tab to protect the batteries. The first time you use it, you need to unscrew the device with a screwdriver to pull the small plastic tab to connect the batteries. The emergency product must be immediately ready for use. It would be great if there was a slot to pull the tab out of to protect the batteries, but the beacon also comes ready to use. After the first use, you can unscrew the device and replace the tab. That design flaw aside, I think they are essential for any rider. Each unit has a hook and white LED so you can use them as a small pendant light in your car, tent or campsite. In addition, the device bag is only 4.5 centimeters high and about 4.5 centimeters in diameter. This compact bag fits in most glove compartments. I am very happy with this purchase.
