The sewing scissors were tightly closed when unpacked. I tried to unscrew the lock nut with a screwdriver, pliers did not help either. I don't need to buy any special tool to unlock what should work as soon as I open the box. Why weren't they checked for quality control? I don't think they even rate one star. I wouldn't give any stars for this crap. Another reviewer mentioned locked handles. I strongly advise you to buy another brand, these are useless. In addition, the shaft of the scissors is very short. If they worked I would make a double cut compared to my previous pair of scissors. I'm about to make a long trip to the fabric store to buy a high quality pink fabric with an orange handle.
