After the divorce I had the opportunity to choose and buy my first "good" tableware (my ex thought it was a waste of money). I chose this pattern in 1999 and bought 8 sets of dishes. I've lost quite a few items over the years so I bought another portion to replace the lost items. This design is very stylish, but not "over the top". It's mostly neutral - gray, tan, gold, beige - with some cobalt blue (the "gems" in the design). It is very durable (mine has been used countless times at dinner parties) and is dishwasher safe (no additional heat, gentle porcelain setting, hand dry). I also have all the serving items except the teapot. I know young people don't really want that these days, but I hope that one day I can find a good home for them. It's such a beautiful pattern and so versatile - it can work with both modern and more traditional styles.
