Purchased for teenage daughter learning to drive. She likes that they don't darken everything around them, just paint the top part of the field of view a nice purple color. The pair we received are not polarized. So if you need it, maybe you should consider something else. I knew it wasn't polarized from the description so I wasn't disappointed. They're more stylish than functional, but they do a pretty good job of softening the harsh, bright skies. I recommend them, they look cute!
