Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Ultimate Protection and Convenience: Skull & Co. Maxcarry Case for Nintendo Switch by Jeremy Monroe

Absolutely must-have case and grip for your switch

That's it! You can stop looking. Running back and forth watching video reviews and, like me, agonizing over the price. Think a $15 case and $20 grip cap would be cheap and just as good. NOT CORRECT. I have walked this path. This set was in my shopping cart and then added to my saved list while trying 2 different cases and 3 different grips. Everything had its pros and cons โ€“ mostly cons. Even the Orzly case and grip I thought was fine but the grip prevented the shoulder buttons from working properly and there was hardly any room in the case for anything extra! However, pictures from the catalogue/online show that it includes switches, games, cables and extras. I had this Orzly case, all I could fit in was my switch, games and cables, and I could barely close the suction cup. So no waste of time and money. Enough of all that bad mojo now, because you get what you pay for. The Skull & Co set is great. First, the case is big enough for my switch and lots of extras, fun cons, 10 games, cables, power adapter (yes I said power adapter) and I have plenty of room. Exceptionally well done dear, there are little neon blue and red skulls on the zips to match my system. Also, the strap system that holds your Switch in place is really handy knowing my system won't slip or anything will come in contact with the screen. There are also notches/grooves on the bottom so you can use it as a stand for your system. Great for tabletop gaming and will also be a big hit when Netflix starts streaming. Once again I've been given buttons to match my system's red and blue colors and once again Skull & Co doesn't disappoint. A well-designed and pleasant-to-touch system makes the game more convenient and fun. I was pretty much the dock switch type since I have big hands. Now, with bigger palm grips, I'm rediscovering the Switch that's always with me. Thank goodness because now I have such a wonderful case for it. ;) Well - if you have an older Switch Dock, the stylus will work with it. If you have a newer dock (like mine - I just hooked up my system a little over a month ago) it won't work. Supposedly there is a hack to make it work, but I can detach the handle in about 5 seconds and dock it in another 2 seconds, so I see no point in doing anything that might void my warranty. Definitely yes, it is. expensive - currently $50, but you need to remember if you have a Switch, an extra pair of Joy Cons, 5-6 games you've already saved up on gaming gear, and $700+ worth of games . Is $50 a lot to protect all this? Even if you end up paying $35-$40 for a few hits or misses, you might as well spend some extra "Ka-Ching" because it's so worth it and it's the last case and grip you'll ever buy.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
