I have never had a pillow like this but my husband couldn't wake up with neck and shoulder pain so I decided to try new pillows. great for both of us. I need extra head height due to GERD and this pillow replaced two pillows for me. The filling gives but doesn't really move or move away from the support of my head like other pillow fillings do. When I've positioned it correctly, that's how it is and I like it. For the record, I usually sleep on my side but occasionally wake up on my back and the pillow is great anyway. My wife also replaced several pillows with this one pillow. It supports his head and neck without pushing his head too far (which his pillow pile did). He is happy with his pillow for the same reasons I am happy with mine. Another benefit for me was knowing I could remove the filler if I wanted to. I didn't mean to, but I opened it to fluff when I first opened it. It's nice to be able to do this on demand. I would buy this again.
