Durable lightweight backpack

Bought this for a trip to Alaska. I had never used a backpack before so I had to get used to it. It turned out to be good. It's small but big enough to fit what I need. Being told to dress as the weather would change throughout the day, I packed a medium weight men's jacket in my backpack. I also had room for snacks that were in different containers. The water bottle pockets fit a standard water bottle snugly. I tried using one of them as an umbrella and it worked for a while but the umbrella fell out when I took off my backpack so I ended up putting it in. I was glad I had it and it was just the right size for this adventure. The straps were comfortable, but the adjustable straps tended to slip a bit, so I had to tie off the loose ends to keep the adjustable length where I wanted it. I never tried to put it back in my own pocket until we got home. I was able to do this for storage purposes. I would have liked more outer pockets. He has one, but then everything else just goes out into the big open space, so sometimes I had to dig around there to find what I wanted. As I watched others while making my way through the airport queue, I actually saw other men with backpacks that had up to six external zippered pockets, and if I were to suggest an improvement I would add at least two more external pockets. . But it has held up well and served its purpose, so I'm happy with it.
