I'm 5'6" and weigh about 210 lbs. I bought the XL and it fits well. Even though it says it has tummy control, the middle isn't very tight. It's comfortable, but doesn't tuck me in much. The bottom is like a swimsuit as shown in the photos and not shorts under the skirt. This is all one piece. I bought the blue colored pattern and it's a really pretty design. The middle comes all the way down between my breasts but the top provides adequate coverage. I've washed it (cold water in the machine and hung up to dry) but haven't worn it out to a pool or beach yet. Overall, it's really comfortable and pretty and I think it will hold up well.
