I have two very small paludariums. mini pumps. These pumps are great, but they don't have a filtration system. I bought them and made a very simple filter for my waterfall! I took a mini pot (1-2 inch) that came with some small plants. In this pot I put one of these mini filters at the bottom and then put the pot under the waterfall where the water runs off the rock. The plants hide the pot and the filter helps keep the water clean! They are perfect, easy to use and easy to switch! While I don't use them in the traditional way, I think it's awesome when you have an unusual project that you need to create a filter for.
