Review on SAMSUNG 128GB EVO Plus UHS-i Class 10 Micro ๐Ÿ“ธ SDXC Card (MB-MC128D) with Adapter - Up to 80MB/s Speed by Corey Krull

Excellent read speed and acceptable write speed

I bought this micro SD SD card a few days ago, mainly for my smartphone (Axon 7), mainly to store big data and 4K videos. Performance: I use a UHS 1 USB 3.0 card reader for my tests because it supports the full read and write speeds of the UHS 1 standard. Quality cards can offer high initial speeds, but what happens with some is that when all the NAND data is dirty (about 25-50% full), the write speed can drop to 50%; This product does not have this problem. Even if you don't care about performance, I recommend you always fill any flash you buy to 100% because fakes can't do that. provides consistent write speed over the entire length of the disc. Performance is very consistent for TLC NAND memory and can stay fairly close to the 20MB/s advertised on the box over the entire length of the card (100% full). ). There is only a slight difference as the disk fills up, suggesting that NAND saturates the memory controller fairly quickly when writing directly to dirty TLC flash. This means that even when the drive is mostly full, performance is similar to when it's empty (just a little slower). The average read speed is 81.9 MB/s, with a minimum of 77.6 MB/s and a maximum of 83.4 MB. Write speeds/s averaged 20.7 MB/s with a top speed of 22, 3 MB/s and a minimum of 18 MB/s. These random write speed changes are due to the use of TLC flash memory. After reading and writing 100%, I formatted the card on my phone and then transferred some data to the card (23GB music, photos and videos). I then ran a test with the Crystal Disk Label. This is intended to more accurately represent the type of performance a user will see when there are already a number of files on the card, as this is the state the card is in for most of its lifespan. Performance for all Flash. drops a bit when the data is already on the disk, so I think it better reflects the user's experience in daily life. surpassing advertised write speeds many times over, while read speeds fell slightly short of the 80MB/s rating. 4K reads and writes are on par with many other cards in this price range, and the only real advantage of this is that these cards should not be used to store applications that rely heavily on 4K reads and writes, since even the fastest UHS-1 cards. will still offer only a fraction of the occasional 4K performance, even eMMC NAND used in today's low-end smartphones. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this card to anyone looking for extra storage for their smartphone. like any netbook. The performance is sufficient for recording 4K videos. With enough storage space, you don't have to compromise on the quality of the video you record, the music you store on your device, or the video you store on your device. Update from 28.01. 2017. and offered good enough write speeds and IOPS to ensure the camera in the phone didn't have to wait for the card, but then the card decided to fail in a very annoying way. It seems that the card constantly puts itself into read-only mode when it feels like it's having trouble. In this case, the card cannot be formatted and files cannot be removed from the card. To make matters worse, the card has to be sent in for an RMA (not the best option if you have your device's CWM backup on the card). Overall I am currently going through the RMA process with them and will see if there is an issue with the card replacement. All in all, this is the first micro SD card model I've come across. Update 2/6/17: I have received my replacement card, will keep an eye on the reliability of the replacement. and offered good enough write speeds and IOPS to ensure the camera in the phone didn't have to wait for the card, but then the card decided to fail in a very annoying way.
