I've read good and bad reviews about this table and I understand why some people had problems: It's a good little table to sit next to my chair. There are two long dowels and four short dowels - some people have used long dowels on the countertop and they went through them - these dowels are for the bottom brace - as shown in the instructions. I did notice that the screws come out the sides since it's all chipboard - so hold onto them and take your time. I assembled the table in about 10 minutes and only have one small manufacturing flaw and one small flaw where you can see the screw a bit close to the edge of the wood. because I used a drill and didn't pay attention to how the screw is screwed in. I would recommend the table, remember you get what you pay for so be careful and assemble slowly. Dry the fittings before gluing. However, insert small dowels into the legs and use a mallet/mallet to push them all the way in before attaching them to the countertop. This prevents the dowels from "pushing" through the worktop.
